Custom Mask

Even if you normally wear a paper mask, it's a good idea to buy at least one custom mask, and if it's a cotton mask, all the better. In fact, the CDC has endorsed the tightly woven cotton mask as an effective way to limit the transmission of germs from one person to another since it blocks and contains the large respiratory droplets you expel each time you cough or sneeze. And while you may not realize it, this is just as true when you laugh, talk loudly or sing. The technical term for this is source spread, with you being a possible source if you have been infected with the Coronavirus, but are unaware of it since you're asymptomatic (don't show any signs or feel any effects.)

In light of this, both the Mayo Clinic and the CDC advise that when shopping for a cotton mask, you look for one that is composed of more than one layer of material. Well, we thought of that from the very start and so each custom mask we turn out is made of two tightly woven layers of 100% cotton. This means our masks are all washed and wearable. So you can wash your custom mask every day, if you wish. Just be sure to use a non-irritating soap; and although hanging it to dry in the sun's ultraviolet light is good at killing germs, drying it in a hot dryer is even better.

However, whether you wear a paper mask or a two layer cotton mask, it's all moot if you don't wear it correctly, that is so that it covers both your nose and mask whenever you're out in public - whether you can maintain a socially distant six feet of separation or not. It's the only way to slow the spread of the virus.
