Designed Mask

My masks came to be in the midst of the pandemic quarantine. While I was sheltering in place, I realized two things. Number one: when at last we were allowed to pursue life's activities, we would be required to wear face masks. Number two: I loved to sew and design and I had plenty of time to do so. At first I made my masks as gifts for friends and family and when I gave each one a designed mask, I watched their faces with trepidation. Would they like them? Would they wear them? The answer was a resounding yes and yes. That's when the thought came to me. Hey! maybe I could sell these.

And sell they did. Since all my masks are 100% cotton, people liked that they could wash and reuse them unlike the blue paper masks that were the only type available to them at the time Then there was the fact that their two layers prevented droplets from entering as well as leaving. So when they were wearing their reusable face mask, they knew not only that it was protecting them, but also protected everyone with whom they spoke or did business. The piece de resistance, as the French say, was the fact that since my designer face mask for sale website offered a variety of different colors, and were available in solids as well as with embroidered patterns and figures, they had lots of choices.

And this led to my next challenge. Could I offer a variety of designer face masks for sale that would appeal to men and women alike? And how about a mask children would not only be willing to wear, but want to wear. I came up with sports figures to appeal to baseball, and basketball fans, and even boxing gloves for those who enjoy watching a good match, I included a designed mask with a cyclist and one with a surfer for the fitness crowd, and even a chakra mask for the growing number of individuals who turned to meditation to calm their pandemic anxiety. Cartoon characters, mottos and sayings, seasonal and holiday themes - once I got started, I couldn't stop.
